My First Holiday - Alnwick
Mummy and Daddy and me went to visit Alnwick. Alnwick has a castle which I think was used in the Harry Potter films. We didn't go and see the castle, but we did go to The Alnwick Garden and it was great! When you walked (or were carried) in you were met by the fantastic view of the Water Cascade which is pictured above. At times there were fountains and four big jets of water. I heard one man describe the jets as "four young boys showing off". I'm not sure what he meant, but Daddy laughed.
At the top of the Water Cascade was a lovely walled garden. It had lots of flowers and water features in it and loads of bumble bees which Daddy took photos of. The Alnwick Garden also had a Bamboo Maze and a Poison Garden. We had to go on a tour of the Poison Garden with a guide as some of the plants in there are really dangerous -some were even in cages! I nearly forgot, there was also the biggest Tree House I have ever seen. It had a cafe and a restaurant on it and a little walk-way with two very bouncy bridges. I enjoyed the whole day - but found it a little tiring.
