My Summer Holiday - Monday Day 9

On Monday on my holiday I got up and ready early as me and Lottie, Mummy and Daddy and Granny and Poppy (Grandpa) were going to Alnwick. We were going there to spend some time in the gardens and to visit the castle. Grandpa has a big car and we all managed to fit in it together. When we got to Alnwick we went to see the gardens first. I like playing on the tractors and Granny took me to fill the bucket up with water.
I like playing in water lots and so does Grandpa! After spending the morning in the gardens we went a got some food in Alnwick. We then took it back to the gardens to have a picnic.
Later in the afternoon we went to a book shop called Barter Books. I like it because it is in an old train station and it has two little trains that run on a track over the book cases. then we went out for dinner - I had fish and then we went for a walk round a park. Daddy was my horsey and I rode on his shoulders for a bit round the park. Then I made everyone go for a run as it is good to get rid of all that dinner!

My Summer Holiday - Sunday Day 8

Ha! Ha! We had a lazy start to the day. When we finally got up we went to Tesco for breakfast and when we had finished that Granny and Grandpa met us but I felt like calling Grandpa "Poppy" just for the fun of it! They had travelled all the way to Newcastle and we had only finished breakfast! They then had some breakfast too.
We the all went for a walk at Whitley Bay but it was very, very, very windy. Then we had dinner in a restaurant and I had roast chicken.

After dinner Mummy and Daddy, me and Lottie and Granny and Poppy went for a walk in Newcastle. Daddy says this photo above is our magazine pose as no-one is looking the same way. I like Newcastle as there are lots of bridges and one of them had trains going over it and another had buses.

My Summer Holiday - Friday Day 6

After an easy day on Thursday, Mummy, Daddy and me and Lottie wasted no time hitting the beach (after Daddy and me had been to the shop as is our holiday routine!). The sun was shinning and the day was lovely. I sneaked a peek at the lifeboat on route the the beach and then began a busy morning playing in the sand, building castle and playing in the sea. It was great. We had a picnic lunch and then Lottie and me had a sleep, and I think that Mummy and Daddy took it in turns to have a little nap too. After more playing on the beach we went back to Noah's Ark. Daddy and me went to get dinner and we had lovely Indian food - I liked the luari chicken better than the chicken korma and I ate lots as I was starving!

After dinner we went for a last walk around Seahouses and especially around the harbour. I showed Lottie the boats and then I showed Daddy the lighthouse that you can see from the end of the harbour. When I got there I felt like I needed to poo so sat on the floor to concentrate and push a bit. Daddy didn't want to give me a shoulder ride after that - I don't know why. In case you are interested, I didn't actually poo!

My Summer Holiday - Thursday Day 5

Thursday was our 'rest day' as our holiday had been really busy relaxing and the weather on Thursday was not the bestest - a little overcast and a lot windy. Mummy and Daddy and Lottie and me did a little shopping, Daddy got his haircut as he thought it was too long(!?!), and I had a little sleep and a little play with my toys in Noah's Ark Cottage. Late in the afternoon we went and had a play on the beach and Daddy and me had a splash in the sea, but as it was windy I needed my woolly jumper and tracky bottoms on when I came out - it wasn't a day for being damp in the open!

My Summer Holiday - Wednesday Day 4

Me and Mummy and Daddy and Lottie went on the boat in the picture above. It was a very lovely boat and it had a lot of people on it and a dog that looked like Granny and Grandpa's Poppy. The boat went very fast and took us on a trip to the Farne Islands which I could see from Seahouses as they had some lighthouses on them. It was very exciting being on the boat and there was lots and lots to see, like other boats, and I liked the waves splashing at the front best.

The boat took us to an island that is the home to some seals. Seals are different from the sea lions that I saw at the safari park. The seals just sat on rocks and looked at me - one even waved - but sea lions at the safari park jumped into the water, blew bubbles carried a ball on their nose and jumped out of the water to hit a ball high in the air. The boat then went to another island where there was lots and lots of birds. There were some funny looking birds called puffins that looked like little penguins with funny beaks. I liked them too.

My Summer Holiday - Tuesday Day 3

Tuesday on my holiday was supposed to be a cloudy day, but it turned out to be baking! Mummy and Daddy thought it was to be cloudy so planned that we would go for a ride on a little steam train - I was so excited - I love choo-choo's! We arrived at a little station and Daddy got us little tickets and we waited on the little platform for the little train to come. It whistled 'peep-peep' before I saw it. The train journey was great and went through some lovely countryside before arriving at a little place which had a castle, a pub and a tea-room shop. We went to the tea-room shop and I had a ice lollipop and Mummy and Daddy had a big pot of tea and some big cake, Lottie just had her usual milk and we all sat outside as the weather was lovely.

At the tea-room shop there were some cheeky birdies that flew right up onto the table to help themselves to cake crumbs from Mummy and Daddy's plate. I told them that they were bad, bad, bad, but they took no notice.
In the evening, after a big tea of sausages and Yorkshire pudding, Mummy and Daddy and me and Lottie went for a walk along the beach. I had a paddle in the sea as I had my sandals on and it was great fun splashing Daddy and Mummy.

My Summer Holiday - Monday Day 2

On Monday on my holiday it was a lovely day and the sun was shining. Daddy and me got up and got dressed an went to the shop to buy the dinner for Monday night and some things to make a picnic to take to the beach. I liked going to the shops in the mornings with Daddy while Mummy got herself and Lottie ready. After eating Daddy's fruit bread toast for breakfast we all got ready to got to the beach.

On the way to the beach, which was about half a mile walk (or ride on shoulders) away, I went to the RNLI lifeboat station and saw a lifeboat. Lifeboats are a bit like fire engines or ambulances for the water and they go and help people. I got a lifeboat for me with some of my holiday pennies and tried it out in the rock pools and in the sea once I got to the beach. I also played in the sand lots and lots. The beach is so much fun. I then had a sleep before going home for dinner of smoked kippers and smoked haddock - I liked the haddock best and we got it from a Smokery next door to Noah's Ark!

After dinner Mummy and Lottie and me and Daddy went for a walk along the cliffs and down to the rocks by the harbour. I like seeing the lighthouse flash and I found out it was the lighthouse that a lady called Grace Darling lived in. She was a brave lady who rowed out during a storm to save passengers from a boat that had got stick on the rocks. The it started spitting with rain so we went back to Noah's Ark.

My Summer Holiday - Sunday Day 1

I'm just back from being away on my holidays and I had a lovely time. It all started on a Sunday, after Daddy had been to work, Mummy and Daddy and me and Lottie packed up the car for our journey. It was quite a long journey, but not as long as to Granny and Grandpa's and I stayed awake all the time. I went to the seaside to a place called Seahouses and Daddy had planned that we would stay in a cottage called Noah's Ark! How good is that - a cottage with my name!

Once we had unpacked in the Noah's Ark, Mummy and Daddy and Lottie and me went for an explore. The seaside was right at the end of our street and there was a harbour which is where little boats spend the night. I liked seeing the boats and I saw some of them spout water out of the back which I thought was them doing a pee-pee. The weather was lovely warm.

Isle of Luing Holiday

At the beginning of October I went on holiday with Mummy and Daddy just for a little while. We went to a little Island called Luing and it was very lovely. The weather was mostly OK but it was sometimes windy. We had to drive across the Atlantic Ocean over a little bridge from Scotland to Seil Island and then we had to catch a small ferry to Luing. It was my first time on a ferry and it was very exciting. We stayed in a caravan that was right next to the sea and I could watch lots of boats pass by the window. I even saw dolphins jumping out of the water! In the evening Mummy and Daddy and me went for a walk and I got to paddle in the sea - but I kept my wellies on as it was too chilly, but I still got my feet wet because of the waves!

My Holiday - Homeward Bound

It was sad to say goodbye today to Uncle Chris (H), Auntie Dawn, Lewis and my girlfriend Amy. She must have been upset as she didn't want a kiss although she was being brave and not showing it. We came home from holiday but Mummy and Daddy took the scenic route and boy was it scenic! There was lovely hills and lochs and pretty houses all the way from our cottage to the town of Moffat. We stopped in Moffat to have some lunch in a lovely cafe before making our way home.
It's nice to be on holiday, but it's nice to be home afterwards. I had so many things to catch up on. After a catching up on a little sleep I set to work catching up in the sand pit which was nice as it reminded me of being on the beach at Lindisfarne. Mummy and Daddy were busy too, but not too busy to spend some time playing.
Auntie Rita and Uncle Ian came to visit for tea. I showed off my walking to them which I'm getting quite good at now, and I showed them my Daddy's holiday pictures. It was good as most of them are of me!

My Holiday - Day Seven

Today we went to a farm called Jedforest and it was great. I saw sheep and owls and donkeys and ponies and llamas and goats and chickens and cows and water buffalo and deer and piggies. They were all really friendly and would come up to the fence so that I could stroke them. I like this little sheep as he was especially friendly.

Daddy had to pick me up to reach some of the animals like the donkeys but they were friendly too. The two donkeys were good friends and were nibbling each other with their teeth. We had some lunch in the cafe and then I got the chance to feed some lambs. They were very hungry and noisy before they got their food. I couldn't believe it that they drink milk out of a bottle like me! At first when I was given the bottle I thought the lady was bringing refreshments round. It was only when the top didn't feel right in my mouth that I found out it was for the lambs!

I also got a chance to have another play on a tractor. I was sat on a real one earlier in the week and have been on little ones three days in a row - but they are great fun and I like them a lot.

My Holiday - Day Six

Today we went back to Alnwick, but this time we went to explore the castle. The castle is really big and was used in the Harry Potter films, whatever that means. Daddy and Uncle Chris (H) are good friends, but they are very competitive. They saw the archery before we even got in the castle and had to have a go. They were both very good at it, although Daddy was a little bit gooder and beat Uncle Chris (H).

Castles are great, but there are lots of weapons and stuff. I saw guns and swords, bows and arrows and then Mummy wanted to fire me out of a cannon! I think she was only joking though at least I hope she was!
We had lunch in Alnwick and then we went back to Alnwick Gardens and played in all the water fountains and stuff. It didn't matter about getting wet as the weather was nice and we dried quickly. When we got back to the cottage Daddy let me practice with the bow and arrow he had bought me from the castle. He said he wanted me to catch my own dinner, but he gave me an arrow with a rubber sucker on the end which isn't much use!

My Holiday - Day Five

I had Kippers for breakfast for the first time and they are lovely. I also had my porridge, toast with honey on and some of Mummy's Rice Krispies. Today we all went to Alnwick to see the gardens there. It is a great place as there is lots to see and do. There is a maze made from bamboo, lots of water falls, a rose garden, a poison garden with scary plants - some in cages, but best of all there are tractors that you can ride on and if you take them to a waterfall you can fill the front bucket up with water. The weather was also lovely today.

First of all we played on the tractors and because Daddy was pushing we tried to soak Mummy, but she was too quick for us!
Then we went to explore the maze, but there were lots of school children there and it was busy so we decided not to go in today. Then Daddy, Uncle Chris (H) and Auntie Dawn went on a tour of the Poison Garden. Daddy learnt that rhubarb leaves can kill you if you eat them and is worried as we have them growing in the garden! Daddy was also impressed with a plant called Hog weed which can give you a nasty burn like touching the oven or something, except this burn will come back when you go in the sun! I'm glad I stayed outside with Mummy, Amy and Lewis and ate yogurt coated raisins as it all sounds quite scary!
After that we walked around the rose garden and then the walled garden and I got to smell the lovely flowers and bushes and to paddle in the water.

Daddy and Uncle Chris (H) took lots and lots of photo's.
We then had a picnic with crisps and my jam sandwiches and ham rolls and afterwards the Mummy's and Daddy's tried to play frisbee. Sometimes they threw the frisbee good, but were pants at catching, then sometimes they threw the frisbee bad and were catching great! At least they had fun.
Before we left the gardens we went to a tree house and I got to walk on a very bouncy bridge which was so much fun I had to have a second go!
Then we went to a second hand book shop which was huge and was called Barter Books and it had a train that went around the top of the book cases.

My Holiday - Day Four

Today was brilliant! First we went back to Pot-a-doodle-do to pick up the stuff we painted - there were great. Then we went food shopping and I got to share a double trolley with Amy. I love double trolleys! Amy and I had our first snog! Then we went to a Honey Farm where we learnt all about bees and them making honey and the best bit was I got to taste some - I love honey - I think I might be related to Winnie the Pooh! Then we went to a place called Teviot Smokery and Water Gardens but Daddy was very disappointed as there was no Smokery! We did buy bird food though for the birds in the garden and Daddy got some Kippers and Uncle Chris (H) got some Wild Boar and Apple sausages.

When we got home Amy and I played for a bit. It was fun pulling faces at Daddy through the window. It's nice having Amy and Lewis around as they are good fun. Lewis doesn't do much yet though but I still like him and think that we will be good friends when he has learnt to do more things and I don't have to be reminded by Mummy and Daddy to be more gentle with him!

My Holiday - Day Three

Today we went to an Island called Lindisfarne that you drive to when the tide is out. Lindisfarne is lovely... except today it was mostly closed. We didn't discover this until we were already trapped by the tide and had no escape. We we marooned but we decided to make the best of it. Uncle Chris (H) had an aeroplane that you were supposed to be able to control, but Daddy and Uncle Chris (H) spent more time climbing a wall to get it back than they did flying it. Daddy also had his Stomp Rockets with him. You put a rocket on a tube and the step on a pump and the rocket flies high into the air. I tried it, but could get it to go that far. Daddy decided to aim the rocket at an old lady and he is a very good shot! I think this surprised him the most and if he hadn't shouted at her I think it would have been a direct hit! Then Amy and I played together on the beach which I liked a lot.

After that we went for a walk, but then it started to rain. Mummy had my buggy cover so I was nice and dry. Mummy thinks of everything! Luckily we found a hotel serving tea and cakes and sheltered there until it was time to go home. Lindisfarne is nice, but it is definitely better when it is open.

My Holiday - Day Two

I love being on holiday. I had a great breakfast of porridge, fruit bread, toast and rice krispies and I watched the squirrel and the woodpecker eating their breakfasts too!

As it was Sunday we decided we wanted to go to church so we left the cottage early to go to The Salvation Army in Berwick-upon-Tweed. I have been there before when I was littler and the people there were lovely and remembered me. It is only a little church and we took up two rows!

After church we went to a place called Pot-a-doodle-do! Everyone had a lovely lunch there, but I slept through it, but I had a supply of jam sandwiches so it was OK. After lunch we all went and painted pots. Mummy painted a mug with a penguin on, Daddy painted a Mini, Uncle Chris (H) painted a racing car, Auntie Dawn painted a butterfly and Amy painted a little cat. I was still sleepy so just watched. Daddy put my name on his before we left because the pots need to be made shiny by the people who work there. I think it was nice that he put my name on it, but I also think he did it in case it was rubbish when it was finished! Ha! Ha!

My Holiday - Day One

I've been away on a holiday. I went with Mummy and Daddy to visit the countryside on the Scottish and English border. I thought it best to eat lots before I left as I wasn't sure how long it would take to get there - so I filled up on jam sandwiches. Mummy and Daddy said I would be staying in a cottage and Uncle Chris (H) and Auntie Dawn and my girlfriend Amy and her brother Lewis were going to be there too.

The cottage was lovely and very big. It took me a little time to explore everywhere. The best thing was the shortbread biscuits that had been left for us by a nice lady as I like shortbread a lot. I think the next bestest thing was the conservatory as it looked out onto a lovely garden. I saw so many animals in the garden that I had not seen before. Lots of birds including woodpeckers, a pheasant, a mouse, a squirrel and even a fox.

My First Holiday - St Abbs

St Abbs is a beautiful unspoilt place. The coastline is stunning - we do have some lovely scenery in this country. St Abbs is a very pretty fishing village that now seems to be a hub for people wanting to go diving. Mummy, Daddy and me went for a lovely walk along the cliff tops before heading into St Abbs itself.

We had been to The Salvation Army in Berwick early in the day. As Berwick Corps is in the East Scotland Division that makes it the only English Corps in a Scottish Division. The people there we really friendly and the service was really lovely.

We stopped in St Abbs harbour for a sit down and some refreshments. Mummy had a cheese scone with jam and a big cup of tea. Daddy had a giant toasted tea-cake with his tea. I had my usual milk!
