Sports Results - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Good: Last Friday night Daddy and Liam went to see the Braehead Clan who won 5-1 against the Dundee Stars. They were both very excited.
The Bad: No phone call last Saturday from Grandpa confirmed that Derby County hadn't done good and had lost 2-0 against Millwall.
And The Ugly: Last Sunday night the Clan won 6-4 at Edinburgh Capitals. This is a good result, but 'ugly' because Daddy umm-ed and arr-ed about whether he should go and then decided not too - bad choice Daddy!

Football Results! (Again)
Grandpa rang Daddy late last night and it was once again because the football was good! Derby won again last night beating Doncaster 3-2 at Keepmoat. We are now up to 7th in the league. We have a tough couple of games coming up though against Millwall and Watford - I hope we can keep winning!

Football Results!
We also have a new team in our house. We now support the Braehead Clan - our local Ice-hockey team. They have been newly formed this season and Daddy and Liam went to see them last Wednesday night. Sadly they lost to 5-2 to the Nottingham Panthers, but Liam was still excited as he came home with 3 ice-hockey pucks that had been fired off the ice! Auntie Love-Leigh is a hockey fan too so I'm going to watch them when I'm older! Come on the Rams! 'Mon the Clan!

Football Results
My early optimism after beating Leeds that 'this was going to be our season' has now completely faded away. Since that first win on the opening day of the season we haven't done too good. Derby have suffered 2-1 defeats to Cardiff and Coventry and had a 2-2 draw against QPR. Yesterday we lost again, 1-0 to Sheffield United. We even got knocked out of the cup by Crewe. Oh well, let's be positive. England Ladies are playing on telly tonight and Daddy and me are going to watch it. Daddy says that the 'beautiful game gets even more beautiful', but I think that he's just hoping that the ladies will change shirts at the end of the game! Come on Derby! Come on England Ladies! Football Surprises and Play Days
I haven't commented much about football this year as it's not really been a season to remember, but I love football because when you don't expect it - it gives you a big surprise. Derby County gave me a big surprise on Saturday. We were playing our local rivals Nottingham Forest, who are doing very well at the moment and are second in the league whilst we are eighteenth. Daddy felt sick on Saturday because he thought Derby would get gubbed, but to our surprise Derby County beat Forest 1-0. Daddy was so happy and so was I. We clapped and shouted in the car when we heard the news on the radio.
On Saturday afternoon I then went swimming with Daddy and then had a mixed grill for my dinner.
My Mummy was working all weekend so on Sunday i got to play with Daddy too. We went to a church in the morning and then chilled out in the afternoon and watched the Man Utd and Arsenal game.

Football Results
My football teams are too depressing. I've had enough of this season so I've decided not to post anymore results until next season. Roll on 2009/10 - the year Derby County and Albion Rovers will taste success!

Football Results
Today, for the first time, three generations of Godfrey's went to a football match. Me, my Daddy and my Grandpa went to watch Albion Rovers.
It was a good game, we missed a few chances and it cost us in the end as we lost 1-0 to Montrose.
Guess what though! There was a picture of me with my Daddy in the match programme - I wasn't expecting that!

I can't believe it! (Read this out loud - the first bit sounds funny - it's the second bit that's not!)
Forfar 4 - Albion Rovers 0. Many people feel that our chance of making the playoffs has passed after that result. I was chatting with the manager the other day when I was getting a bovril before the game and he says he might need to call on me for a game! (I don't know if he realised I can't walk yet - but I am great at dribbling!)
On a plus side - the nice lady who runs the club shop knitted me an Albion hat!

I've missed a few results, good and bad, but the only way I can describe yesterday is ugly!
Derby County lost 4-2 to Sheffield United - the defending was not pretty at all - I saw it on TV this morning.
We are now 17th in the league. Other news of interest - Burnley notched up their highest win in nearly ten years - a 5-0 win against Forest!

My first real-life football match!
Last night Daddy and Uncle Gordon took me to my first real-life proper football match! I've got the T-shirt and everything! We went to see our local team Albion Rovers beat Elgin 2-1! It was great, although I did get a little upset when everyone shouted when we scored. A lovely lady there said that she would knit me a yellow and red hat and she gave me some angel cake. Daddy and Uncle Gordon went last Saturday to check it out before they took me. You can see them in the crowd in the photo below! I've decided that I'll start my career at Albion Rovers, move to Derby County and then Daddy says play for England and Mummy says play for Scotland! Come on the Rams! Come on the wee Rovers!

I don't have a picture to explain quite how I feel. My "perfect day" of my Dedication did have one hic-cup. Derby County were playing Manchester Utd at Pride Park whilst my Dedication Service was happening. We lost 4-1. On the bright-side, we are still the only team to score against Man U recently as no-one in the Premiership has done that in 14 games. It doesn't make me feel much better as we still lost 4-1.
I need to end on a cheerier note, so here's a bit of football trivia. Forfar play at a ground called Station Park, which happens to be the football ground furthest away from any train station.
