Film Night with my Daddy

This morning Daddy came home from work just when I was getting up. I had to get ready though to go to school and Daddy had to get ready and go to bed, so I only got to kiss him 'goodnight'. Mummy took me to school - and I did painting, drawing and danced, and then Mummy picked me up from school and we went to see Gran and Papa. Daddy was still in bed when we got home - he thinks he's a little poorly with a cold and he had to wear his comfy cardigan - but I eventually got him up in time for dinner. After dinner I had my bath, and after my bath Daddy and me had a film night. Daddy chose the film tonight and we watched Escape to Victory! It was very good and we had ice-cream and a sherbet fountain. At the end of the film there is a football match with the Allies playing the Germans. Daddy and me cheered when the Allies scored - it was very exciting!

Shhhh! Don't tell Daddy this. I'm really glad Daddy likes the film Escape to Victory because Mummy, me and Lottie have got Daddy a football top like the ones the Allies wear in the film. It is great and has a number 8 on it, but it's a secret surprise for his birthday.

Sports Results - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

The Good: Last Friday night Daddy and Liam went to see the Braehead Clan who won 5-1 against the Dundee Stars. They were both very excited.
The Bad: No phone call last Saturday from Grandpa confirmed that Derby County hadn't done good and had lost 2-0 against Millwall.
And The Ugly: Last Sunday night the Clan won 6-4 at Edinburgh Capitals. This is a good result, but 'ugly' because Daddy umm-ed and arr-ed about whether he should go and then decided not too - bad choice Daddy!

Football Results! (Again)

Grandpa rang Daddy late last night and it was once again because the football was good! Derby won again last night beating Doncaster 3-2 at Keepmoat. We are now up to 7th in the league. We have a tough couple of games coming up though against Millwall and Watford - I hope we can keep winning!

Football Results!

Yeah! Another great win for my super Derby County! Yesterday, Derby won 3-1 against Preston North End (Which is the same score line as Nottingham Forest lost by). We are on a good little run picking up 10 points out of 12! We are now only 4 points off a play-off place and at the same time only 4 points off relegation - what a great league we play in - better than the Premiership any day!
We also have a new team in our house. We now support the Braehead Clan - our local Ice-hockey team. They have been newly formed this season and Daddy and Liam went to see them last Wednesday night. Sadly they lost to 5-2 to the Nottingham Panthers, but Liam was still excited as he came home with 3 ice-hockey pucks that had been fired off the ice! Auntie Love-Leigh is a hockey fan too so I'm going to watch them when I'm older! Come on the Rams! 'Mon the Clan!

Football Results

Derby County Tops 3 Forest Tops 0! Derby played Swansea on Saturday and it finished goal-less. I think this is a good result for us and Daddy and Grandpa were happy enough with it too. Grandpa was happier with his new Derby top that we got him for his birthday though - I hope it becomes his lucky footy top!

Football Results

Yeah! Saturday was a great day for football. Derby County beat Crystal Palace 5-0! Daddy was not excited though as he was sleeping most of the day Saturday after being asked to work the night-shift. Grandpa was excited though, as he rang Daddy on the way home from the match. Grandpa only telephones Daddy after the game if it's been really good or really bad. May be this will be our turning point of the season? Come on Derby!

Football Results

My early optimism after beating Leeds that 'this was going to be our season' has now completely faded away. Since that first win on the opening day of the season we haven't done too good. Derby have suffered 2-1 defeats to Cardiff and Coventry and had a 2-2 draw against QPR. Yesterday we lost again, 1-0 to Sheffield United. We even got knocked out of the cup by Crewe. Oh well, let's be positive. England Ladies are playing on telly tonight and Daddy and me are going to watch it. Daddy says that the 'beautiful game gets even more beautiful', but I think that he's just hoping that the ladies will change shirts at the end of the game! Come on Derby! Come on England Ladies!

Football Results

Yeah! Yesterday was the start of a brand new footy season. I like the start of a new season, when my team are joint top and my goalie hasn't conceded. Yesterday was great too as Derby were on the telly! First match of the season and Derby County were away to Leeds and we won 2-1! Is this going to be our year? - Probably not!

YEAH! We are in the last 16!

Eng-er-land did it! We beat Slovenia 1-0 this afternoon. I missed the first half as I was out with Mummy and Lottie but I was excited and cheered when Daddy told me we were winning. I think we did good and we now have to play Germany on Sunday. Daddy is a little sad that we won't be able to watch that game as we will be travelling when it is on but he is happy that we won today. We are also pleased that USA got through as that is nice for Auntie Jenn and Uncle Jay and Belle. Come on England!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Me and Lottie wanted to wish our Daddy a happy Father's Day! I hope this cheers him up a little as he was pretty sad after watching the football on Friday night when Eng-er-land only got a draw with Algeria - 0-0! He says at least it'll make Wednesday night interesting, which it would be if we had beaten both USA and Algeria. Daddy we love you - we hope you have a lovely day.

COME ON EN-GER-LAND!

Yippee! The Football World Cup started on Friday so on Saturday morning we dressed to impress! Daddy got me my England strip for Christmas and Mummy bought Charlotte her top for only £1! Everybody thought she was a boy on Saturday though - Ha ha! We spent the day on Saturday with Granny and Grandpa and Grandpa's cousin Pearl and Ray who also visited me on Thursday and Friday as well. We had a lovely day out on Saturday, although I didn't like it when they had to go home and I was very sad. When we got home we settled down to watch England against USA. I shouted "Gooooooaaaaaaaaaal!" when we scored after three minutes and danced around the room with Daddy. Just before half-time we let in a soft equaliser so I went to bed. The score remained at a disappointing 1-1.

Football Surprises and Play Days

I haven't commented much about football this year as it's not really been a season to remember, but I love football because when you don't expect it - it gives you a big surprise. Derby County gave me a big surprise on Saturday. We were playing our local rivals Nottingham Forest, who are doing very well at the moment and are second in the league whilst we are eighteenth. Daddy felt sick on Saturday because he thought Derby would get gubbed, but to our surprise Derby County beat Forest 1-0. Daddy was so happy and so was I. We clapped and shouted in the car when we heard the news on the radio.
On Saturday afternoon I then went swimming with Daddy and then had a mixed grill for my dinner.
My Mummy was working all weekend so on Sunday i got to play with Daddy too. We went to a church in the morning and then chilled out in the afternoon and watched the Man Utd and Arsenal game.

Today, my Daddy was working but Mummy was free to play. We went to Parents and Toddlers in the morning and then this afternoon I went to 'Funky Monkeys' which is another adventure play place with lots of slides. I had a lovely time, but I was very tired and needed to sleep when I got home. Hmmm. I wonder what I'm doing tomorrow.

Football Results

My football teams are too depressing. I've had enough of this season so I've decided not to post anymore results until next season. Roll on 2009/10 - the year Derby County and Albion Rovers will taste success!

Football Results

Today, for the first time, three generations of Godfrey's went to a football match. Me, my Daddy and my Grandpa went to watch Albion Rovers.
It was a good game, we missed a few chances and it cost us in the end as we lost 1-0 to Montrose.
Guess what though! There was a picture of me with my Daddy in the match programme - I wasn't expecting that!

Football Results

Uncle Chris (N) says that Derby "played pants". We could only manage a goal-less draw against Barnsley!
Derby 0 - Barnsley 0
Some days football is just not that exciting - it's still football though and I love it!

Football Results

I can't believe it! (Read this out loud - the first bit sounds funny - it's the second bit that's not!)
Forfar 4 - Albion Rovers 0. Many people feel that our chance of making the playoffs has passed after that result. I was chatting with the manager the other day when I was getting a bovril before the game and he says he might need to call on me for a game! (I don't know if he realised I can't walk yet - but I am great at dribbling!)
On a plus side - the nice lady who runs the club shop knitted me an Albion hat!

Football Results

I've missed a few results, good and bad, but the only way I can describe yesterday is ugly!
Derby County lost 4-2 to Sheffield United - the defending was not pretty at all - I saw it on TV this morning.
We are now 17th in the league. Other news of interest - Burnley notched up their highest win in nearly ten years - a 5-0 win against Forest!

My first real-life football match!

Last night Daddy and Uncle Gordon took me to my first real-life proper football match! I've got the T-shirt and everything! We went to see our local team Albion Rovers beat Elgin 2-1! It was great, although I did get a little upset when everyone shouted when we scored. A lovely lady there said that she would knit me a yellow and red hat and she gave me some angel cake. Daddy and Uncle Gordon went last Saturday to check it out before they took me. You can see them in the crowd in the photo below! I've decided that I'll start my career at Albion Rovers, move to Derby County and then Daddy says play for England and Mummy says play for Scotland! Come on the Rams! Come on the wee Rovers!

Football Results

I like Wednesday night football. The football results were: Derby County 4 - Blackpool 1 and to make the night even better Ipswich 2 - Nottingham Forest 1! We're moving in the right direction and that four wins in a row now.
Come on you Rams!

Football Results

I don't have a picture to explain quite how I feel. My "perfect day" of my Dedication did have one hic-cup. Derby County were playing Manchester Utd at Pride Park whilst my Dedication Service was happening. We lost 4-1. On the bright-side, we are still the only team to score against Man U recently as no-one in the Premiership has done that in 14 games. It doesn't make me feel much better as we still lost 4-1.

I need to end on a cheerier note, so here's a bit of football trivia. Forfar play at a ground called Station Park, which happens to be the football ground furthest away from any train station.
