Fun Things to do Indoors

With the nights getting colder and darker way before bedtime and it no longer being weather to go out to the Sandy-Park I thought I'd give you some suggestions on things you can do that are still fun even though you may be stuck at home. My first suggestion is DANCING! clear away your toys, get as many people as you can to dance and get some good tunes on the ipod dock - and don't forget to have the potty close by - all that jigging can make you want to pee-pee! My favourite tunes at the moment are "Honey, Honey" from the film Mamma Mia, "I guess you could say" by Middle Class Rut and "The World is all there" by Fools Gold, oh and I still like Mika's "Lollipop". Uncle 'Ickle Kevin, Daddy and me were really pulling off the moves the other night!

Or if Dancing is not your thing, get your daddy to get out DADDY'S TOYS. I have come to discover that Daddy's Toys are always better than boy's toys. My Daddy has some cool things that I'm only allowed to play with when he's around. He has some big boy's Lego (which, strangely, is smaller than little boy's Lego) and we have had some fun building boats and cars and ambulances and planes. You have to concentrate hard when you are playing with it as it's a bit fiddly, but it burns away the hours after dinner and before bedtime.

My last suggestion is to get Mummy and Daddy to take you SOMEWHERE ELSE that is indoors. I like swimming, but my favourite place is Happy Days! Mummy and Daddy and Lottie and me went on Monday afternoon.

I like going down the big chutes and so does my Poppy-Doggy - this is Poppy-Doggy coming down the chute by herself. Anyone can go down the chutes and bounce on the trampolines. A few weeks ago I took Granny and Grandpa and even they liked going down the chutes. Granny was the fastest in her smooth and speedy trousers. We had a great time on Monday - we even had some tea at Happy Days. As we were going to the car though Mummy was very naughty. Mummy didn't stop at the curb and just walked out onto the road. I told her off all the way to Gran and Papa's house as she was a baddie and it was a busy road.

Jesus Loves You, But I'm His Favourite!

I've had a weekend away with the church and it was really good, and Mummy and Daddy and me and Lottie stayed in a hotel and I saw a froggy and got to go swimming. The weekend was so good that I got my Bible out when we got home. There are some good stories in the Bible - I like the one about Jonah who got swallowed by a big fish and I like the story of me who built a big boat and saved all the animals.
Today I've been a really big boy and I have been wearing big boy pants all day instead of a nappy. I did this yesterday but ran out of pants in the end as it's a little bit tricky not to be tinkly, but today I have been dry all day - Yeah! Mummy and Daddy and Lottie and me even went shopping for some more big boy pants and I got some with monkeys on and some like Uncle 'Ickle Kevin wears (so Daddy says) with Policemen on them and I did a pee-pee in the toilet! Mummy and Daddy are very proud.

I Bumped me 'ead!

Oh no! I bumped me 'ead! I've given myself a right shinner of a black-eye. It happened last night just before I was going to bed. I slipped on one of my books and fell against my Duplo box. It hurt very, very much. It even hurt when I was trying to get to sleep, especially when I kept rolling on to it in the night.
I had a nice day before that. There was no school as yesterday was a local bank holiday and Mummy's friends Blair and Gillian came to visit.
The day before we had Auntie Love-Leigh and Uncle 'Ickle Kevin come to play. They spent all afternoon and most of the evening with us. We had some much fun - I like it when they visit.
This weekend we have more visitors coming - Granny and Grandpa - Yeah! They are coming for a sleep-over though - I'm so excited.
Today I went to school - black-eye and all - and I had toast for snack and did some dancing. I might just chill out a little this afternoon.

Chillin' at home

This morning I went with Daddy to the shops and we went to have a cake and some milk in Starbucks. Mummy and Lottie stayed at home to do some gardening. When Daddy and me went into Starbucks we saw Jen (without Paul - by the way, have you checked out http://paulclementtrio.bandcamp.com yet?) and Katherine. We sat and chatted with them for a little and then we had to go home. In the car on the way home I fell asleep and when I woke up Uncle David had built up a tent in the garden!

I decided to try out Uncle David's tent and so I ate my wotsits in there. It was very warm. Later, Uncle David fetched Robbie and Dylan and Auntie Pop (I know it's really Auntie Cat, but I have been calling her 'Auntie Pop' all week because it is funny!) to come and see the tent and they stayed to play for a while. Later Katherine came round for a coffee and a chat - it was nice to see her twice in one day.

Yesterday, Uncle 'Ickle Kevin and Auntie Love-Leigh came to visit and I like it when they come to see us. We had Domino's pizza for tea and then watched the football on the telly. Uncle Kevin is so funny and played lots of games with me. We also had a game of football with Daddy in the a garden and I kept swapping sides, but in the end Daddy won 12-3 and Uncle 'Ickle Kevin was very sad.

My new Barnet!

I had one of those 'get lots done' days yesterday. I took Mummy to Parents and Toddlers in the morning and we had a lovely time. Then Mummy took me to get my hair cut as it was getting a little long and girlie. I went to a proper barbers and I have a big boy's haircut now! It's even shaved at the back like Daddy's hair when Daddy's hair is long. I like it a lot and I think it makes me look grown-up and super-cool.
I then met my cousin Liam for lunch and we had a bacon sandwich at Gran's house. After that Mummy and me went to get some new lights for the back of her car, then we went home.
Last night Uncle 'Ickle Kevin and Auntie Love-Leigh came to play. Uncle 'Ickle Kevin gave me a dinosaur set that he had when he was a 'ickle boy. It has a volcano and everything! He gave it me to go with my dinosaur car set that I had for Christmas. I love my new set and I have played with it all day today!

Making my bedroom NEW - 2

My newly decorated bedroom needed brand new furniture so Mummy and Daddy got me a brand new wardrobe and a brand new unit. Daddy very cleverly made it up whilst I was sleeping today and I didn't even wake up when he was banging about. After my sleep I thought it was best to check what Daddy had been doing and couldn't believe he had finished. I thought it was best to check my new furniture out fully. Grandpa(G) has a habit of 'having pieces spare' and I just wanted to check that none of the important pieces of Daddy's work were 'spare'.
I checked it good. I have a wardrobe that is split in half giving me hanging space at the bottom and hanging space at the top. My unit has four drawers in it on one side - two of the drawers were made by Mummy! On the other side is shelves for my books and things. I think it has made my room look perfect and the blue on the doors goes very well with my blue and blue walls. The drawers mean that I now have space for my jumpers and vests and socks and 'jypamas' (That's what Daddy calls my pyjamas!)
I also have a new football lamp-shade. That was part of my Christmas present from Uncle 'Ickle Kevin and Auntie Love-Leigh. To match with that I also have a football bean bag that Auntie Rita got me a little while ago but I have been saving for my new bedroom. My bedroom furniture is great!

My Week

I don't know where this week has gone! I can't believe it's Friday already. On Tuesday I went shopping with my Mummy and her friend Joyce before popping into Gran(N) and Papa's house and inviting ourselves for dinner. On Wednesday morning I went to check out a nursery for me to go to after the summer - I'm not sure quite what that's all about but it sounds exciting. I think I'm going to go to nursery two or three mornings a week. On Wednesday afternoon Uncle 'Ickle Kevin and Auntie love-Leigh came to visit. We all went to play at Adventure Planet and then we came home to watch the football and eat pizza. Auntie love-Leigh gave me a bath after my pizza as I needed it. She then read me stories. Uncle 'Ickle Kevin is worried that I like her more than him, but I like them both the same, it's just that Auntie love-Leigh is prettier! On Thursday I watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in the morning with my Daddy then he took me to Gran's as Daddy and Mummy were working. This morning when I woke up I found that it ad snowed a little whilst I was asleep! May be it's time to get my sledge back out of the garage.

Daddy Day

Yesterday I had a day with my Daddy as Mummy was at work. I got Daddy up earlier than usual at 7.30am as I had a busy day planned and I needed him to get me my breakfast and get me dressed. We did all the house work first thing and left the house at about 10.30 to go to Toys R Us. I was quite excited about going to the toy shop, but because I had got up early I fell asleep in the car. Daddy carried me all around the toy shop fast asleep and I woke up just as we were going out of the door. We then planned to surprise Mummy and meet her for lunch, but first we went to Asda to buy some cakes for the ladies and men at Mummy's work. They were very pleased to see them, but Mummy was bestest pleased.
After lunch Daddy and me went to a shopping centre where there were fountains that danced up and down. We met Uncle 'Ickle Kevin there and he bought me a drink and my favourite cake. It was great fun spending time with him. Then Daddy took me home and I slept a bit more. Then I had chicken and chips for tea, a jam doughnut and a yogurt!

My busy week so far - and it's only Tuesday!

On Sunday I had a day in with Daddy whilst Mummy went out for lunch with some friends from work. I think when I share a day with Daddy I have to share everything and that includes his chocolate covered apple that Mummy and me bought him (except I really only wanted the chocolate and not the apple - but that's still sharing! On Sunday evening Uncle 'Ickle Kevin and Leigh came for dinner. We had a great time and we had proper dinner at the dinning room table and everything. I had soup to start with then my dinner and then dessert! It's always nice to see Uncle 'Ickle Kevin and Leigh and I know Mummy and Daddy like spending time with them too.

On Monday morning, whilst Mummy was working, I went shopping with Daddy for winter things. The weather here has got very freezy so Daddy got me some new vests and a big warm coat. Then I spent Monday afternoon with Gran (N). Today, Daddy was at work early and so I spent the day with Mummy. We went for a chat with Mummy's friend Esther and then Daddy came home and took me fun shopping! We were going to go swimming, but I'm a bit snotty, so we went to early learning and I got three new toy cars - a mini, a VW beetle and a camper van which is like a bus. I then got very busy when we got home setting them out just right, which takes longer than you would think.

Big Brother

This is my little brother/sister and he/she is waving! On Friday Mummy, Daddy and me went to the Doctors, but not the usual one where I get my jags, and Mummy had some jelly on her belly and then we watched the telly as my little brother/sister was on it. It's all very exciting, but it has to stay in Mummy's tummy and won't be coming out until the end of March! Daddy says that if it's a little brother he is going to call it Noah II, and if it's a little sister it'll be called Joan as Daddy says she was Noah's wife - Joan of Ark! I don't think Mummy is keen on that at all. For now I'm going to call it 'Baby' as that is what it is.
After that Uncle 'Ickle Kevin and Leigh came round to play. I like Leigh as she is very smiley (and I went a bit silly and showed-off a little). We all went to Frankie and Benny's for food and I had a hot dog, but it wasn't really a dog at all but a big sausage, it was still nice.

Oo, Oo, Oo.

Yesterday I had my first visit to casualty! I had a little fall off the decking and landed on the path. Normally I'm "as 'ard as nails" and a quick cuddle after bumping myself and I'm back to normal, but the quick cuddle didn't work this time. We went to have dinner with Uncle 'Ickle Kevin and Leigh at Nandos which was lovely, but every time I was lifted in and out of the car or into the high chair it made me cry. When we got home, Mummy and Daddy checked me over and I looked OK, but I cried again bending down to pick something up so they decided to take me to see a doctor at the hospital just to be on the safe side. The doctor was very nice and said that he didn't think I had hurt myself too badly.
I've spent most of the day sleeping and although I am still a little sore, I feel a bit better this evening.

Update

Do you like my Adidas trainers? Ann Marie and Gail got them me for my birthday. They were a lovely white when I had them, but now they are not so white. Yesterday I went shopping with my big cousin Liam to buy him some clothes for when he goes to big big school next week. We had lunch at Nandos which is lovely. Then in the afternoon I had to go to the doctors to get a jag (or jab if you are English rather than Scottish). I only had one thank goodness! I have to tell you I did cry a little, but it doesn't seem to have done me any harm. I soon got over it and haven't been poorly or anything this time.
Today Uncle 'Ickle Kevin came to visit - he is sooooooo funny. He came and stayed for tea and was here until I went to bed. I like it when he visits.

Catch Up: 2 - My Dedication

My Dedication Service was great - apart from the fact that I missed the whole thing. As you can see from the picture, I was there, but I just slept through it all. Lots and lots of people came to my Dedication Service, lots of my family and lots of my friends - our church was nearly full! Allan and Linda (My Corps Officers) led everything through and my hero Paul and Jenn sang some songs, Uncle Chris (H) did the Dedication, Uncle 'Ickle Kevin was made my God-Father, the band played, the songsters sang, there was even cake afterwards, but I'm a little like my Mummy and by the end of the night I didn't enjoy being the centre of attention. It was very lovely - and I was given lots of lovely presents - and everyone was lovely, but there are only so many hugs a boy of 8 months can cope with! I was kinda glad to get home - and my girlfriend Amy came back with me for a little while! It was a perfect end to a perfect day.

Food on the Chin of the Week!

No, before you ask, I haven't grown a ginger goatee! It's that time in the week when you get to guess what I've been eating. Does anyone have maximum points still? The answer as ususal will be at the bottom of this post. So here's a quick run down of my week. On Monday something very strange happened. When I woke up, Daddy took me into the "guest room" and guess what!?! PC MacD was there! Uncle 'Ickle Kevin was sleeping in the room next to me and I hadn't even realised. It was great because it meant I got loads of attention because Uncle 'Ickle Kevin is a bigger kid than me! He makes me laugh. He stayed and played all morning before he had to go to work. On Tuesday I went with Mummy to visit my friend Mia. Her mummy, Michelle and my Mummy had a lovely chat. On Wednesday I went to Boobie Group with Mummy, and then today Mummy and me went to see Gran (N) and Papa. I did a poo there which scared the pussy cat! Hee-hee! I haven't done a lot with Daddy this week as he has been working lots and doing homework from college too - so we've only played in the house. The answer to Food on the Chin of the Week is: Baked Beans.

Happy Hogswatch!

This is me last night getting ready to watch The Hogfather. I saved a seat on the sofa each side of me for Little Lisa and Mark, but they didn't come in the end so I was left looking like Billy-no-mates. Little Lisa put her car in a ditch - again. I'm going to lend her my booster seat so she can see over the steering wheel. The good news is that she is OK. Uncle Gordan and Auntie Gillian came and PCMacD came and had a sleep-over! We had pizza and popcorn and chocolate fingers but to be honest it all got to much for me and I conked out on the sofa then slept through 9.20 the next morning. Parties are fun but tiring!

Creepy Colds!

Those colds kinda creep up on you don't they? I think I'm nearly over mine now, but I still have a little cough. Mummy and Daddy have my cold now instead, Daddy says it's snot funny! Now that I'm feeling better I should be able to keep you more up to date with my news. Here's a quick catch-up. On Sunday PC MacD came to visit with Matt. Daddy and Mummy haven't seen Matt for ages so it was really nice to spend some time together. Today we went Christmas Shopping, then tonight I went to see all the pretty Christmas lights in town. We met up with Uncle Gordon and Auntie Fi and it was lovely to see them. By the way, I've learnt something new - I now give kisses!

Feeling a Little Stuffed!

I'm feeling a little sorry for myself - I think I have my first cold! My nose is really bunged and snotty which means I'm finding it difficult to breathe, eat and sleep. I'm trying my best to fight it but it's definitely a "baby cold" which is worse than a "man cold". Uncle 'Ickle Kevin came to visit tonight and he had some dinner with us. We are now calling him PC MacD and we had a great time with him. I'm hoping he'll be able to visit more often now that he's a proper copper!

'allo 'allo 'allo

Today was a very exciting day. No, I didn't get arrested, but I did find myself in the reach of 'the long arm of the law'. Today we went to see Uncle 'Ickle Kevin become a policeman. He's been training for 15 weeks (that's most of my life!) and today was his passing-out parade. It was great to see him and I think he'll be a great policeman and catch lots of robbers. I am very proud of him.

Sunday, 14 September 2008

I had a really busy day yesterday. Uncle Chris, Auntie Dawn and my girlie Amy came to visit. Daddy and Uncle Chris built my Thomas the Tank Engine train set. It's fantastic! Thomas pulls two carriages, one is loaded with a log. Thomas drops off the log, which is then picked up by Terence who moves it to another station and reloads it on to the carriage! There is even Harold the Helicopter!

We were supposed to be going to Proms in the Park last night but because it hasn't stopped raining since, well, all my life, we didn't go. In the end Uncle 'Ickle Kevin and his girlfriend Arlene came to visit. Uncle 'Ickle Kevin thinks he's a superhero as he is training to be a policeman! He may not be a superhero, but he is super and one of my heroes!
