Daddy's Birthday Family Outing!

Happy Birthday Daddy! Daddy's birthday was on Friday and he had a lovely day. We got him some nice presents. A replica 'Escape to Victory' football shirt, some sweeties, some speakers for his iPhone and Daddy also got a jumper and some Lego which I helped him build in the morning. On Saturday we then went on a 'Birthday Outing' and it was a great outing! Lottie and me were moved to the car whilst we were sleeping as Mummy and Daddy set off early to go to the Lake District. I got dressed at a service station and we then went to Haverthwaite where we we going for a ride on a steam train! It wasn't a little pretend steam train, but a real-life-proper-full-size steam train. I got to watch it back up to the carriages and then we all climb aboard. We had tea and cake and juice and a gingerbread man on the train and Mummy's cake was huge! We travelled on the train to Lakeside and we got off the train and we then went for a ride on a big white boat! It was lovely weather so we sat on the roof of the boat. I saw a water-skier, some boats, swans and ducks and a turtle-dinosaur (a crocodile) and a whale.

The boat stopped at Bowness-on-Windermere and we got off and had a picnic. Daddy got me a ball and we played with that for a while. It was very sunny and lovely. Soon it was time to go home so we had to get back on the boat. I had a little snooze on the boat journey on the way back but I woke up in time to got back on the train. On the way back I spent most of the journey looking out of the window of the door. The train smoke smelt funny and it was great to see the engine when we went round a bend. It was the best birthday outing ever!

My first proper train ride on a proper train

Choo Choo! Today Mummy and Daddy and me and Charlotte needed to go into the city to do some bits and bobs. Instead of taking the car as we usually do Daddy and Mummy came up with the idea of going to the city on a train, a proper real life train, not like the one at the fair last week, but a proper real life one. We got to the train station just in time and I was so excited. I saw lots of things from the window, like buses and lorries and other trains and diggers. When we got the the city we went into a really big train station with lots and lots of trains, some short one and some really long ones. The train we went one was blue, but there were red and yellow and silver ones too.
The best thing was we had to catch the train home too. On the way out of the big station our train had a race with another train. I waved at the train driver and he waved back. I blew him a kiss and it made him laugh! On the home a train past us that was going really fast and it went tsh tsh tsh tsh and it made it jump at first! I enjoyed my first and second train rides a lot.

Box of Delights

Yesterday was a "Mummy and Daddy at work" day so I spent the day with Gran. When Daddy came to pick me up he was very excited and he had a great big wooden box in the boot of the car. A very nice lady who is my Daddy's boss gave him the big wooden box to give to me and everything that was in it! It had belonged to her Daddy, but he has gone to live with Jesus, so she thought I might like it. When I opened the box there was loads and loads and loads of Hornby train stuff! There was two big steam trains, one small stream train, a diesel engine, a rail-laying wagon, and lots of other wagons too and track and other things. Daddy says I'm a little too small for it now, but has arranged that Uncle Chris (H) will come round and help us set it up in the year 2020 when I can "look after it properly". It was very kind of the nice lady to give me all of the trains - I'm really going to take good care of them!
